Christmas Is
by Gene Minix
Christmas is a chilly morning
With bright icicles that shine.
Logs on the fire brightly glowing
And snow on the cedars and pines.
It's wonderful smells from the kitchen
As Mom cooks with joy.
It's sweet carols being sung
And children happy with their toys.
It's hot chocolate and eggnog
And Mama and Dad snuggled tight,
Lost in each other's arms
Gazing at a Christmas tree bright.
It's thoughts of our Sweet Saviour
Who came down from above.
It's all these wonderful things
And Christmas is love!

THE KING
by Gene Minix
Many years ago in Bethlehem town
A mighty King was born, though He wore no crown.
They lay Him down upon a straw bed
While nearby the lowly animals fed.
To much of the world, it went without notice that night.
Too blind were the crowds to see the star light.
Many years ago in Bethlehem town.
When a mighty King was born, though He wore no crown.
Many years ago outside of Jerusalem town
Walked a King, though He wore no crown.
His life was perfect, He did no wrong,
Not one sin in His life, yet they wanted Him gone.
So He climbs with heavy cross up Calvary's Hill,
The angry mod crying, "Kill Him, Kill, Kill!"
Many years ago in Jerusalem town
When the King of Glory lay His life down.
Many years ago outside of Jerusalem one day,
The earth trembles and a stone rolls away.
Death has to let go, nothing can make Him stay.
Conqueror over death itself, in victory He walks away.
And soon He's coming back for all those who trusted and believed
To take us to Heaven to live for eternity.
He is the King of Kings, upon His head a crown.
Every tongue shall confess Him so, every knee shall bow down.

I walked up the mountain today.
Ah, what beauty all around.
I paused for a moment or two
To thank God for the joy I'd found
In just seeing the wonder
Of the world around me.
Of snow and ice gleaming in morning sun
And an eagle flying high and free.
Then gazing across the way,
I saw a wonderful Christmas tree.
Covered with snow and ice, sparkling like diamonds.
Decorated by God Himself and given to me.

The Greatest Gift
by Gene Minix
The little boy in ragged clothes
Watched as the wise men came.
Saw the gifts that they brought
And wished he had the same.
But he was a poor little boy,
No gold, frankincense, or myrrh.
No gift to give the baby Jesus
In honor of the greatest birth.
Tears flowed from his eyes,
His little heart broke into.
Oh, Jesus, how I wish I had
A gift I could give to you.
Then he ran to the manager,
Lord I've got to do my part!
I don't have money or things,
But I give you my heart.
And from Heaven a light shown!
The greatest love you can impart
Is the gift you've given
When you gave your heart!
