RIDING HOME AT CHRISTMAS
by Gene Minix
It's been a long hard day
But, in the distance I see
The bright lights of home
Like a beacon, calling me.
The snow is now falling.
The wind moves the trees.
But, I feel the warmth of home
Calling, calling out to me.
I know you have to be tired.
We've put in a long hard day.
But, soon, my friend,
There'll be warm barn and hay.
And soon with family so dear
By a warm fireplace I'll be.
We'll celebrate the birth of our Lord.
Born, from sin to set us free.

THAT WONDROUS NIGHT
by Gene Minix
Above the lowly stable
A star shone so bright.
Welcoming the birth of God's Son
Born on that wondrous night.
God come down to man
When man needed Him so.
On that wondrous night
In Bethlehem long ago.
Give thanks to God above.
Joyful hearts sing.
On that wondrous night
Born our Saviour, Lord and King.

A PICTURE SO GRAND
by Gene Minix
Out my window
In a picture so grand.
Painted and given to me
By God's own hand.
Snow so fluffy white.
Such beauty to see.
A winter wonderland.
God's special gift to me.
Thank you, Dear Lord,
For giving to me.
This day so wonderful
And the beauty I see.
