SING PRAISES TO THE LORD

by Gene Minix

Sing praises to the Lord

As the new day begins.

The One who loves us so,

Who died for our sins.

Lift up hands, ye people.

Give Him your praise.

Words of thanksgiving

Let us to Him raise.

Sing praises to the Lord

Giver of our salvation.

Lift up joyful hearts to Jesus.

Praise Him in glad adoration.

A COWBOY AT HEART

by Gene Minix

I always wanted to be a cowboy

Riding the range so free.

Where the white face cattle roam

Is where I wanted to be.

I spent my days a playing cowboy

Just happy as a boy could be.

Riding across a make believe prairie,

My broomstick horse and me.

Where winds blew across Oklahoma hills

And under Colorado skies so blue.

A good Montana cow-horse to ride

And a sweet Texas gal so true.

A sky full of twinking stars.

A big round moon so bright.

Me and my old guitar

Around a campfire light.

Well, the years went by and I grew up,

But still I'm playing the part.

I guess I'll just alawys be

A cowboy at heart.

DOWN IN ST. AUGUSTINE

by Gene Minix

There's a town that's old
And history filled.
The beach is grand
And hospitably real.

Let's be on our way.
Let's make the scene.
We'll have a grand time
Down in St. Augustine.

We'll walk hand in hand
Just you and me.
We'll greet the sunrise
Down by the sea.

We'll walk the old streets
As the sun goes down
Making wonderful memories
In St. Augustine town.

And when we're all alone
I'll hold you so tight.
It's a wonderful time
In St. Augustine at night.

Let's hurry on our way.
Can't wait to make the scene.
We'll have a grand time
Down in St. Augustine.

ABOVE THE STORM

by Gene Minix

The lighting flashes across the dark sky
In the summer storm today.
The wind blows hard, the rains pour,
The trees bend and they sway.
But there is peace in my soul.
I have no fear or alarm.
I know the Lord is watching over me
And God is above the storm.

AS LONG AS YOU LOVE ME

by Gene Minix

You gave me a shoulder
When I needed one to lean on.
When I felt down and weak,
You helped to make me strong.

When I had doubts
You took the doubts away.
When others had harsh words
You had kind words to say.

When I needed a helping hand
You reached out your hand to me.
When there were times I didn't understand
You always helped me to see.

When the storms of life grew weary
As they did at times.
You gave me the hope and courage
That tomorrow the sun would shine.

I want you to know I love you.
And I'm so thankful you are mine.
And as long as you love me
I know everything will be just fine.
