AS LONG AS YOU LOVE ME
by Gene Minix
You gave me a shoulder
When I needed one to lean on.
When I felt down and weak,
You helped to make me strong.
When I had doubts
You took the doubts away.
When others had harsh words
You had kind words to say.
When I needed a helping hand
You reached out your hand to me.
When there were times I didn't understand
You always helped me to see.
When the storms of life grew weary
As they did at times.
You gave me the hope and courage
That tomorrow the sun would shine.
I want you to know I love you.
And I'm so thankful you are mine.
And as long as you love me
I know everything will be just fine.

I'M REMINDED
by Gene Minix
Every time I see a deer at play.
When I hear a robin sing.
When snowflakes fall on my nose.
When roses bloom in the spring.
A sunset over majestic mountains.
A sunrise down by the seashore.
In all these things
And in a million more.
In watching a precious child at play.
A lover's words so very dear.
In a refreshing summer rain.
I'm reminded that God is near.

I WILL NOT FEAR
by Gene Minix
There is no night so dark
That my God cannot see.
And I know that my Lord
Is watching over me.
So I will not fear.
Why should I worry?
When I know my Lord
Is watching over me.
There is no noise so great
That Jesus cannot hear.
When I call His name
He is always right here.
So I will not fear.
Why should I worry?
When I know my Lord
Is watching over me.
He knows all my yesterdays
And those days yet to be.
He knows my heart.
How my Lord does love me.
So I will not fear.
Why should I worry?
When I know my Lord
Is watching over me.

TRUSTING EACH DAY
IN JESUS ABOVE
by Gene Minix
I'm trusting each day
In Jesus above.
Basking in the sunshine
Of His wonderful love.
I am so happy
As I go on my way.
Trusting all to Jesus
Each and every day.
His grace is so awesome.
His love is so true.
I'll keep on trusting Jesus
In all that I do.
How wonderful is my Lord.
Thank God above.
It feels mighty grand
To know I'm so loved.
Yes, I'm trusting each day
In Jesus above.
Basking in the sunshine
Of His wonderful love.

RED LEAVES OF AUTUMN
by Gene Minix
I stood at my door and watched
The trees in the wind sway.
Bringing down leaves
On this crisp Autumn day.
And the leaves riding the wind
Spoke a sermon to me.
The red leaves, crimson leaves
Turned my thoughts to Calvary.
I thought how they mocked Jesus
And how they whipped Him, too.
And He was guilty of nothing
Except loving us so true.
I thought of the blood of Jesus
That flowed so pure and free.
He without sin dying for my sin
That day on cruel Calvary.
Red leaves falling this Autumn day.
Preaching a sermon to me.
Reminding me afresh of the love
Jesus showed upon that cruel tree.
Yes, leaves riding the wind.
Spoke a sermon to me.
The red leaves, crimson leaves
Turned my thoughts to Calvary.

GRANDCHILDREN LOVE GRANDPAS
by Gene Minix
Grandchildren love grandpas
Because grandpas walk slow.
Grandpas steps are right in time with theirs
And grandpas are not gonna hurry you know.
Grandpas see things
Like grandchildren do.
Like floating clouds in the sky
And a rose covered with dew.
Grandpas bend the rules sometimes.
And that's just dandy.
Sometimes when Mom says, no,
Grandpas will still slip grandchildren candy.
Grandchildren love grandpas
'Cause grandpas always understand.
And grandpas don't make a big fuss
Like some grownups can.
Grandchildren love grandpas
'Cause grandpas can fix things.
Like a flat tire on a bike
Or a broken tree swing.
Grandchildren love grandpas
Because on some things he's rough.
But grandchildren understand it's because
Grandpas love them so that he can be tough.
Grandchildren love grandpas
Because grandpas are real.
Grandpas don't try to be somebody else.
Grandpas tell it like he feels.
Yep, grandchildren love grandpas
'Cause they are special you know.
And grandchildren love grandpas
Because grandpas love grandchildren so.

GRANDMA
by Gene Minix
Grandma is rich you know.
She has billions of kisses and hugs to share.
And when Grandma wraps her arms around you
You really know just how much she loves and cares
Grandma is always there for you.
She's such a very special friend.
You can talk about anything to Grandma
And her patience with you never ends.
It's always fun to visit Grandma's.
It's so very special I have to say.
And, oh, the treats from the kitchen.
And then at end of day
Grandma will sit you down and read
To you from God's Book and then, Good night.
And then she'll smile and kiss you again
And pull the covers around you real tight.
And she'll say, dream sweet dreams now,
You are such a special one.
And you go to sleep but soon awake
To see Grandma's smile at morning sun.
