GOOD MORNING WORLD
GOOD MORNING WORLD
by Gene Minix
Biscuits are in the oven.
The wife's taking coffee from the can.
The bacon and eggs are cooking
And it sure smells grand.
Outside the birds are singing already
As the morning sun comes up.
The cows are all gathered by the barn
And the kitten is playing with the pup.
Morning chores are waiting for me
As they are each and every day.
There's the cows and horses to be fed
And I've got to bale that hay.
The wife says make sure the garbage is taken out.
And could you hang these clothes on the line?
I'd do it myself, but I need to mend that coat of yours.
I know that you won't mind.
I don't mind at all, I say with a smile on my face
Looking out across the way.
You know that grass has really grown.
I need to get it mowed sometime today.
And somehow it will all get done.
The Lord always makes a way.
But first the wife and I sit down
And hand in hand to the Lord we pray.
Another morning down on the ranch.
What a grand life the Lord has given me.
I love and I am loved, blessed beyond degree.
And this ole cowboy is just as happy as can be.
