Wonderful memories of long ago

Going down to the local picture show

A great western movie to see.

Roy Rogers was a hero to me.

Watching him ride across the screen.

And there I would dream my dream

Of riding with Roy across the prairie.

Roy Rogers was a hero to me.

Ah, those great Saturday mornings of long ago.

I still remember and treasure them so.

Been a long time but they will always be.

Roy Rogers was a hero to me.

He fought the bad guys and always won.

And put them in jail for what they'd done.

And I stood and gave him a hand.

He was my hero and a good man.

Those Good Old Days will always be

A great and wonderful memory for me.

When I'd go to the picture show to see

Roy Rogers.......a hero to me.

Roy has been gone for a time

But the great memories are etched in my mind.

And they will forever be.

Roy Rogers was a hero to me.
