MY FOOT'S ASLEEP IN MY SHOE
by Gene Minix
Just when the door swings open
And the man says , "Come on in to the show".
Everybody goes running for the seats
But, oh, no. I can't go.
My foot's gone to sleep.
Oh, what can I do.
Everybody is running past me
And my foot's asleep in my shoe.
All the seats will be taken
And I'll miss all the fun.
'Cause my foot's gone to sleep.
I'll be a son of a gun.
I've been waiting for two hours.
Oh, what will I do.
The place is all filling up
And my foot's asleep in my shoe.
A grown man but think I'll cry.
Oh, my heart is breaking in two.
How I wanted to see this show
But my foot's asleep in my shoe.
Then I hear a familiar voice
Saying it's your lucky day.
Ranger Doug says we'll carry you
It's the cowboy way.
Wow. The Riders In The Sky.
And a dream come true.
I'm sitting right on stage with them
Even though my foot's asleep in my shoe.
Wow. Ranger Doug, Too Slim, Woody Paul
And Joey the CowPoka King, too.
Yippie ki-yay, I'm happy as I can be for sure
Even though my foot's asleep in my shoe.
